最近参加巴黎VivaTech VIP晚宴时，我谈到了这个话题。在这个阳光明媚的周日，我决定把它写下来。我认为，我们活在一个虚拟的世界。
为什么说我们活在一个虚拟的世界？
40年前，我生活在一个没有自来水、没有电的村庄里。我们要从200米开外的井里打水，夜晚则在煤油灯下写作业。几年后，院子里终于装上了水泵，生活条件改善了许多。再过一年，就有了自来水。村里刚通上电时，每天只供电数小时，但很快就能全天用电了。现在，我们又有了手机、互联网、区块链。
技术的发展是如此迅速，想象一下20年后，《黑客帝国》里的那种技术是否真的会出现，让我们脑袋连上一根线就能进入一个模拟的真实世界？非常有可能。
如果20年太近，那么50年呢？100年呢？这样的技术一定会成为现实，只是时间问题而已。保守一点估计，我们暂且假设500年后，有一种技术能够模拟出我们想看到、感受到、体验到的任何事物。
一旦这样的技术诞生，它就一定会得到应用，而且应用范围会越来越广泛。
以任天堂游戏为例。先是有了这个游戏，才出现了数百万的玩家。其实那也是一种虚拟的世界，随着超级马里奥的前进和后退，各种场景也将被模拟出来。
如今，当我在游戏里看见面前有一道墙，我不知道墙后面有什么。拐一个弯，墙背后的东西就模拟出来了。这是可以做到的。
假设你已经200岁，临近生命终点，有不少闲钱。现在有个机会，只需花一个小时就可以重新再活200年，你愿意买下这个机会吗？我想你一定会。
当我们有能力做到一件事，我们就一定会做这件事。而我所指的“我们”可能是几十亿人。（而且世界人口还在增长）
未来，我们生活在一个虚拟世界的可能性有多大？也许反过来问更容易回答——未来我们还可能生活在一个没有模拟的世界吗？假设模拟世界技术已经成熟，那么后一个问题的概率几乎是数十亿分之一，最高也只是0.000001。从数学上讲，如果我们四舍五入到3-5位有效数字，那么这一概率可以视为0%。
那么，500年很遥远吗？我们的宇宙已经存在了138亿年，如果四舍五入到5位有效数字，500年与之相比也只不过是弹指一瞬间。
也就是说，我们不生活在虚拟世界的概率为0%，那么可以得出结论，我们未来一定会生活在一个虚拟世界。
这是否意味着，生命是无意义的？
并非如此。生命依然很有意义。
我们还不知道我们将生活在怎样的虚拟世界中。
也许，在那个世界里我们模拟自己，也就是说获得了死而复生的能力。这样当然最好。
又或者，我们生活在一个周围的一切，包括我们的朋友、这篇文章在内，都是虚拟的世界。
又或者，还有群组模拟功能，就像《盗梦空间》一样，一群朋友进入同一个梦里生活。当我们醒来，就又回到现实世界。
又或者，人类自身也只是更高维度生物操控的模拟物而已，就像我们操控超级马里奥一样。超级马里奥死了，游戏可以再来一盘，下一个人物也许不会是他了，他直接从这个世界上消失了。在这种情况下，我们如果死了，也会直接消失，我们无法主动与我们的操纵者取得联系，只有他们能联系我们。这样一来，鬼怪、天神等超自然现象也都得到了解释。也许就是我们的操纵者正在与我们互动呢。
这些都不重要，重要的是我们如何创造出我们最想要的那个虚拟世界。毕竟，我们不想白白来这世上走一遭。
模拟世界帮我们解除压力
当我们知道自己生活在一个虚拟世界里，很多生活压力就自然消失了。
在一个虚拟世界里，有很多设定好的挑战是不可避免的，也有一些随机事件。但我们不知道这些事件中哪些是不可避免的，哪些是偶然的。不过这不重要。我们只需尽自己的能力就可以了。生活还是要努力过。但这么一想，仿佛肩上的重担就卸下了。每次面对新挑战，我们都会告诉自己，我们生活在虚拟世界，只需要尽力就可以了。
我的团队深知这一点。所以，每次面对挑战，总是说“嘿，这只是个游戏。”这样的想法非常解压。我大概是从2015年开始有这样的想法的。
努力工作，努力生活，但不要过分严肃，希望大家都能在虚拟世界活出最好的自己。
